Michael and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with a large amount of sushi, cake, and ice cream. How it should be.
We both love sushi. I was looking forward to this dinner all day!
We started with edamame, devoured our rolls, sipped on some sake (one sip for me..didn’t care for it), and enjoyed our complimentary dessert!
Dinner had me stuffed but I did manage a few bites of cake and ice cream. The cake’s gluten did upset my stomach, though.
Michael and I were sure to squeeze in a good workout before stuffing ourselves with loads of food. I went into the workout with the idea of doing some light weights and cardio but ended up running a 10K!!!
I’m slowly but surely getting back into running. With a 10K + 22 mile bike ride coming up this weekend, I figured running that distance at least once beforehand would be a good idea. Just to see if I was even able to still run the distance, I hopped on the treadmill for a full hour + some.
An hour on the dreadmill. Bleh. (My mind wasn’t so thrilled with the idea.)
Surprisingly enough, the hour flew by!! I give credit to the new Brooks. Running is truly a joy with those shoes. I even started landing more on my forefoot rather than heel striking! Woohoo! ![]()
Next step is to taking the run outside. And being that it’s so beautiful outside, today might be the day!
After the workout, I’ll be heading to Storybook Farms for another training session with the horses. One more week until getting to work with the kids!
Talk to you soon!

MMM I’ve been craving sushi for days. Must get some soon!! Your rolls look really good. Yay for the 10k!
I need sushii now :)
All that food looks delicious!!! I just ate lunch, but this is making me hungry again!
Your food looks delicious. Congrats on the 10K!
I love anything Italian! A big bowl of pasta and I’m a happy camper!
I too love Italian. Italian for me means amazing pizza.
I love when treadmill runs go faster and better than I expected. I always feel like I’ve accomplished more than when I have a solid run outside. Congrats on your good treadmill run! I love anything Italian too, but lately have a serious soft spot for deep dish pizza. It’s the meal my husband absolutely rocks at making, and I love relaxing with a glass of wine and letting him take over the kitchen for a while!
Mmm deep dish pizza.
I love pizza! I could eat it every single day. :-)
:pizza: Agreed.
I bought you a $20 Tommy’s Pizza Groupon to use when you are in Madison over Spring Break.
You have me craving sushi!
hmmm food I could probably always eat and never get sick of would be anything with bread. I eat toast every day and NEVER get sick of it! Of course I change what I put on it but still, I love me some good bread :)
I’m almost ashamed to admit but… I’ve never had sushi! On my to-try list :-)
I hope the Storybook sessions are going well, look forward to hearing how it goes with the kids – and good luck in advance for the weekend!
My favorite food is Spanish Paella Valenciana. I know its a mouthful but once you try it with a nice House Sangria you can keep eating it, and eating it and eating it.
