Yes, yes, YESSS!

This Garmin has gone unused since October! Those long, runningless months were put to an end yesterday with the first actual jog since getting my marathon hopes sidelines due to injuries.
It was an amazing…no, fantastic 7 miles + 1 mile warm up/cool down. The new shoes held up just as well outside as they did on the treadmill. I don’t want to jinx it, but that was the first longish run in a very long time in which there wasn’t a single twinge of pain. I fell into the gait with no troubles- it was so pleasant!
I jogged along my favorite path which is full of challenging hills to keep it interesting. Walking breaks were taken but not necessarily needed. All the other cardio I’ve been doing must have helped keep me conditioned.
In other news, it’s been raining here all day yet ironically, our water has been shut off for hours due to them working on the pipes. Last time this happened, we were without water for nearly 10 hours. This time, they gave us no warning or estimated time…and their machines are no longer outside. Not good!
Ever notice how much you seem to need something once it’s gone? No electricity, we need that light that’s never on otherwise. No flour? We need to bake a cake.
And now, with no water…I need to take a nice, long, hot bath.
Okay, not really. But it would be nice.
Fortunately, we have some water to drink left over from filling this jug up this morning.
The urge to take a nice long bath will just have to wait…
Fingers crossed it will be back by the time Zumba’s over tonight. ![]()

Wooot! Congrats :D
Congrats! This is really inspiring for me – I was “allowed” by the Dr. to start running again on Wednesday but I have yet to go out of fear. I’m going to get out there tomorrow!
Yaaaaay!! :) So glad you were able to run outside! :D Congrats!!
Oh wow, I hope your water gets turned back on SOON!
Good luck on your race tomorrow. In my best Jenny from Forrest Gump voice “Run Mary Run!”
Congrats on the run! I know how amazing it feels to start working your way back up after taking time off. I’m currently doing the same and it feels awesome. I’m not sure what I feel proud of today since the day just started.. maybe the fact that I actually managed to drag myself out of bed this morning so that I can make it to my hair appointment on time. Hey, it’s the little things in life. :)
Great run! Hope that water gets back on soon!
