Christmas decorations thus far

We have our Christmas tree!Christmas treeJust kidding.  We’re going for a real one this year and haven’t gotten it yet…so this cardboard one will have to do for the time being.

We did set up the outdoor lights, though.Holiday lights

A certain someone had to be his weird self as usual. Winking smileHoliday lights, Michael

Closest to the house was decorated in white and blue lights while the bottom of our driveway had colorful lights.  We had major issues with these, though.  Every single strand had at least one section out.  Go figure.

How lights manage to get tangled and die just sitting in the basement is beyond me.  We did what we could to make our stubborn lights look good by overlapping the dead strands with live ones.  It ended up working out pretty well.Christmas lights

In the end, our front lawn was bright and beautiful.Christmas lights

Now all that’s left is convincing the parents to get on of those giant inflatable snow globes. Winking smile

Dinner

For dinner, we had homemade seafood chowder and gluten-free biscuits.Seafood chowder and gluten-free biscuits

I gobbled this up- both were so good!  The biscuits are so simple to make, too:

Gluten-free biscuits

  • 1 cup Pamela’s Baking Mix
  • 1/4 cup butter (we used the spreadable tub kind)
  • 1/3 cup + 1 T milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  In a large bowl, pour baking mix and cut in butter with a fork until mixture resembles course crumbs.  Pour milk into mixture and stir until well blended.  Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet (do not let dough sit long between mixing and baking).  Bake 12 minutes until golden brown on top.

Serve warm with jam, butter, or…chowder!Seafood chowder and gluten-free biscuits

Have a wonderful night, everyone!

haha I love the cardboard tree! Where did you get it? My only Christmas decoration is a lonely reindeer candle…pathetic, I know.

My aunt got it a really, really long time ago at an all-year Christmas store and we finally put it up today. One would go perfectly with your reindeer candle! Just be sure to keep it unlit. :)

My apartment is pretty much Christmas free… having finals up to the 23rd means Christmas goes on hold until Christmas Eve haha. Love the lights and those biscuits look really good!

Those snowflake lights are so pretty!
Since I’m away at school, I don’t get to do much decorating but my family always waits for me to come home for decorating the tree! I can’t wait!

Dinner looks gooooood. The tree looks good too. If you had to have a cardboard tree, at least it’s a cute one!
