It feels like I haven’t written in forever!! Actually, that’s not entirely true because I had such a great time in Maine that time flew…but y’all were missed nonetheless.
For all those that are just tuning in, I made a week-long trip there to meet Michael’s family. You think I would have been nervous, but Michael made his family out to be so great that I wasn’t really worried. He was right too because his family’s supa cool. ![]()
I’m not just saying that either- they’re more like friends than “his family”, you know? They really made me feel welcome and at home. ![]()
Rewinding a bit for a recap…if you remember Thursday, I wasn’t having that great of luck with flights. While I missed my first one, I made sure to make the next available flight out. A few hours later, I was in Washington being greeted by this:

First real snow all winter so far!! I even got to walk in it a few seconds while being bussed to the terminal.

There were a few delays and cancellations due to the snow of course..but thank goodness my flight wasn’t affected. Phew.
I was greeted by Michael, his father, and little brother at the airport while his mom greeted me with a hug once getting to the house. It was after dark so we didn’t do much when first getting there, but the next morning Michael, his mom, and I set out on a little adventure.
Our first stop was the beach!

We dragged his poor mom out in the cold to take a picture of us. It looks sunny and warm…but looks can be decieving.

Afterward we went to a lot of cute little stores, some of them being exlusive to Maine. I saw a lot of stuff (food wise or not) that I had never seen before which was really neat but the real fun was just spending time with them out in town.
We also had another little outing while I was there- ice skating! Where I managed to face plant twice within the first 5 minutes.
I wish I was kidding. But it’s no big deal…Michael was sure to be there to hang on.

I am awful at icce skating! I have to hold on to the rail the entire time! It always looks so fun but you have to have no fear of falling and I have a lot of fear!
Glad you got away ok- I was supposed to be going to disney, charleston and savannah but my flight was cancelled due to snow in the UK so I am at home, baking instead! Trying to make the most of it.
Oh no! Sorry to hear about the flight troubles. :( Maybe you could try again in the Spring if you can..those places would be just as nice then and there’d be slim chance of any airport issues. :)
I’m on break from school! (remember those days haha) I so wish I had a cute bou to hold on to when falling on my face ice skating. I haven’t been since I was in middle school
