Stretch, eat, watch

Good morning!

Welp, vacation’s over.  I’m heading back to school in a few hours and I gotta say, the visit’s gone by way too fast..like always.  But that’s ok, Christmas break is just a few weeks away! Grin

I woke up and did an hour of desperately needed yoga:  two 20-minute sessions at yogadownload (Core Yoga #1 and Hip Opening Flow #2) and then 20 minutes of self-teaching.  Ohhh, it felt so amazing.   I really need to get back into daily yoga.  For some reason it’s fallen to the way side and my muscles have really tightened up as a result.

Then.. food!!

Breakfast

In a CaliBowl!!!  My mom ordered these a while ago but I haven’t been able to test them out until getting home.

They’re technically for cooking or mixing bowls, but that’s no reason not to use them as eating bowls too!

And they really are super cool- no slip, incredibly durable, and they even have a little dip in the rim that keeps food from spilling out.

Good thing for that dip, too..because if these oats were in a regular bowl, there would have been quite an overflowing mess. Confused   A bit more pumpkin, more yogurt, and loads of fruit are to blame for that!  I don’t mind, though. Wink

[They're offering a set of 4 different sized bowls here.]

Anywho, in the bowl:

  • 1/3 cup oats, cinnamon, salt, water
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin
  • 2 T cottage cheese
  • 2 T Greek yogurt
  • ~1/4 container Carbmaster yogurt, thinned with water
  • 1 banana
  • tons of strawberries
  • Kashi GoLean Berry Crack Crumble

Chloe says heyyyy!!

Rewinding to yesterday afternoon, we had a family outing to go see the new Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows!

This was an incredible movie- much darker than the previous ones..but that’s how the author wrote the books to be anyway.  There is some comic relief throughout though so it has it’s happy parts as well.

However, I do not recommend seeing it in IMAX.  I had heard how amazing it was on the IMAX screen, but honestly..it’s not made for IMAX and therefore it was way too big.  If you’ve watched the other HP movies..you know much of it’s close up shots.  This one’s no different, so the mega-jumbo-in-your-face-screen isn’t the best choice.  But if you’re a HP fan, save a bit of cash and watch it in a regular theatre, you’ll be glad you did. Smile

~~

Alrighto, time to go be lazy before heading back.  Have a fabulous day!

**Have you seen the new Harry Potter?  What did you think?

**Did you travel anywhere or have company for Thanksgiving?

I love Harry Potter! It’s a shame it’s almost over :(

I’ve never gone to an IMAX theater. It sounds like it’d make me feel sick though. I usually sit in the very back of the movie theater as it is!

Apparently she’s writing another book?? I don’t know, that what my brother had heard..so who knows, they’re could be more movies! lmho

IMAX movies usually make me sick mainly because the stuff they show in there makes you feel like you’re in some sort of roller coaster. They typically show things like you’re flying through moon craters or swimming in the ocean..which is cool, but it does make you dizzy. :/

Everyone should know the breakfast made the house smell good too. You can’t go wrong with pumpkin and cinnamon in the fall.

I agree with the Harry Potter movie. Great movie but horrible in IMAX. I doubt I saw half of what was on the screen because you had to twist your head 180 degrees to see everything. My neck hurt by the end of the 2.5 hours. On top of all that, straight lines (even the wands) were distorted as if we were in a fun house. Great movie though, just watch it in a normal theater.

I loved the new Harry Potter movie, too!
But since I’m a huge HP fan… I bet I’d love it anyway :)

I’m very intrigued by the idea of cottage cheese in the oatmeal. I’m not sure I’d like it, but I’m willing to try it. The bowl looks great.

I was the same way for the longest time but once trying it, I miss it when it’s not in there! You really can’t taste it either..it’s more to give bulk and protein.

I am with Michele – I have heard that lots of people add it in but I have never tried it – do you add it after cooking the oats or while you are cooking it?? Cooked cottage cheese doesn’t sound too appealing :-P

I add it after the oats are done cooking. You’re right, cooked cottage cheese doesn’t sound that good at all!

That’s what I call a power breakfast! The addition of cottage cheese is very interesting! I agree, that you have enough going on here, that I bet you can’t taste it. It would add some great protein too.

I haven’t seen the new HP movie simply because I haven’t seen ANY of them. I absolutely cannot watch a movie based off a book if I haven’t read the book first and.. well.. I haven’t read the HP books. I’ve tried and while I absolutely adore fantasty novels, I just can’t get into them. The movies look really good though!

I was the same way with the books although it may have been because I watched the first movie before picking up the book and then I had their voices in my head while trying to read..it didn’t help, so I gave up on the books. The movies are awesome though!

It looks like plums in your oatmeal, not berries!

I traveled to my parents house down south for Thanksgiving.
We actually had real wild turkey’s roaming around the house!!!

Hope you had a great weekend!!!! I need to catch up on the last 6 Harry Potters, LOL. My brother has them all…..so I plan to borrow them soon!

Sigh… I feel the same way about school. Darn. But honestly, I’m bored and ready for it to get going again… and for Christmas!!

By the way, your bowl looks very festive.

I love the idea of bowls with a “lip”…especially with such overflowing yogurt-y concoctions as that! I have recently loved mixing yogurt and cottage cheese, so I like to see that you do, too. :)

And I loved Harry Potter. I always love them though.

I’ve never gotten into Harry Potter and haven’t seen any of the movies. I have, however, seen those Cali bowls around and must say that they sound pretty neat. :)

I miss yoga.. and hate being sick. Hopefully this week I’m able to go to hot yoga again.

I’ve seen one Harry Potter movie and must confess I’m not a big fan….
