Do you get annoyed with people saying “y’all”? I know quite a few people that do so I really have to watch how I speak around them. Hey, I grew up in the South..it slips. ![]()
Anyway, hope you’ve all had a fantastic Monday! It’s been pretty fabulous over here. It may have something to do with the great workout this morning or the weather slightly starting to cool. Or perhaps it’s the fact both my classes were let out 10 minutes early…I don’t know, but it’s been a great day.
We didn’t learn anything in human anatomy super fun- just all about the skin. She did give a little extra tidbit relating to the amount of melanin we have in our skin and vitamin D deficiency. Melanin acts as a skin colorer and protectant from UV rays. The people in the tropics, for instance have very dark skin because they need more melanin to protect them from the sun. While people in say Ireland are very fair skinned because they don’t need as much melanin.
That explains why fair skinned people burn so much easier, too. A lot of people think it’s just because they’re not beach bunnies..but it’s actually because they don’t have as much ”sunscreen” in their bodies as those with darker skin.
Cool, cool. ![]()
Lunch
Since she let us out ten minutes early, I was able to get to the dining center before everyone else! Nobody was in line at Mondo Subs, so I snagged one before it was too late.
It was much too pretty to be stuck in some cafeteria, though..so I took my meal outside.

Inside the oatmeal whole wheat sub:
- lettuce, tomato, cucumber, black olives, carrots, onion, pepper
- 1 small can chunk light tuna

It was nice sitting outside, but the grass was like needles. Not pleasant.
Pretty though. ![]()

Why anybody would choose a painful grass is beyond me.
I spent the rest of the hour in the Student Center on the computer..cause it’s what bloggers do.
Soon enough I was heading to microbiology. We didn’t really learn anything too exciting because we only had 10 minutes of actual class. The rest of the time was spent reviewing for the test this Wednesday. Eeeek! ![]()
Snack
I wasn’t too terribly hungry when I got home but I knew I had to have something to hold me over through lab..so I fixed a cereal, yogurt/cottage cheese, and fruit bowl.

Speaking of lab, that’s where I’ll be for the next three hours.
Better get to it!
Later gators!
**What made your day great?

Well, I’ve said “ya’ll” all my life, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop! I won’t apologize either :)
I have VERY fair skin. My ancesters where Irish/Scottish. I can’t ever spend too much time out in the sun before I turn into a lobster!
Man, that sub puts Subway’s to shame!
haha, i say yall! and i DEFINITELY say later gator!!
Ya’ll is completely acceptable! I am from Oklahoma though :)
I had some tuna for lunch too!! Love it, so easy!
Did you see Eat, Pray, Love? It cracks me up when the medicine man says, “see you later alligator” ;)
I haven’t seen it but I really want to!! I’d have to reply with “In a while, crocodile” everytime he said it. :P
I live in Texas so everyoneeee says “y’all”. Except for me. Haha I am a native New Yorker and I refuse to ever say it.
I say y’all sometimes, but I’m from and in Texas. I’m pretty sure any stranger who comes here and attempts to make fun of us because of our slang will be ridiculed in return, only they’ll be outnumbered!
I’m super fair skinned as well. My ancestry is ridiculously English, with a few very small smatterings of Cherokee, Irish, German, and Scottish, in that order.
You know I don’t mind your southern accent :),
Well my day was was pretty good. I got to work outside and the breeze felt really good. It always feels good when you’re so high up lol. < sounds like I was flying haha. You know what made my day great.
I love you !
Well it’s good you don’t mind it..I’d hate for you to be annoyed everytime we talked! But I dunno, it could have been pretty annoying when the accent was super deep :P
Glad you had a good day :) I love you!
You should no longer associate with people who judge you when you say y’all. ;)
You’re right..if they don’t like it, then I’ll save them the agony and just not talk to them. ;)
I’m from KY and I DON’T say y’all. All of my friends do though. My mom’s side of the family is from Ohio, so I always say I’m a mixed breed. I have poise and charm (well, sometimes), but I don’t wear pearls or Lily Pulitzer. And I’ve seen Eminem in concert four times. See? Mixed breed!
It’s amazing you can be around friends and still not say it accidently. One of my friend’s mom would get upset because she would come home saying it after just a few hours with me! I like how you described being a mixed breed- perfect! :P
And random, but what part of Ohio are they from? My mom’s side is in Ohio, too..kind of spread out but mostly in Clevland and Columbus.
love that you can still get cherries! they are long gone here!
i had a great day outside with skylar
loved your gym comment, i am using it tomorrow in my post :)
I would love to devour that sub *right* now! It’s lunch time here! ;)
