Have you ever been so excited for something you couldn’t sleep the night before?
Have you ever made a trip to meet your boyfriend’s family for the first time? (Hence the excitement)
Have you ever made it to the airport an hour before your flight and gotten stuck in a long, slow security line?
…and then stuck behind even slower people?
It wouldn’t have been so bad if there were ways to make it more enjoyable…
(He has the right idea.)
Have you ever made a mad dash to your gate, making it 8 minutes before departure, only to rudely be told there’s no way you’re getting on the plane?
…and then walking to the window to see your plane, just sitting there, with the gate still attached and the doors still open.
Have you ever sat in the middle of an empty terminal crying? From pure frustration, irony, and being talked down to as if you’re stupid.
….not the quite crying either..but more of the loud-gasps-for-air-every-2-seconds type of tears.
So yes, my morning hasn’t been the most pleasant…
But at least I have a father who will come pick up his daughter so she doesn’t have to wait 4 hours in the terminal for her next flight.
At least my boyfriend’s able to help me look on the bright side and that it only put the visit back a few hours.
At least I already have the tickets for my flight- one less thing to worry about.
and at least this couch is much more comfortable than airplane chairs anyway.

Oh no! Those situations are the worst. And sometimes employees can be so rude, even when you’re nice! Good luck – talk to you from Maine!
Oh thats horrible!! So sorry it didnt work out, but I am glad you are looking on the bright side of things. I hate when a plan falls apart, but it looks like you get a second shot ;)
oh my gosh, you poor thing!! I actually have had it happen before where they wouldn’t let me on the flight whle I saw it was still connected to the airport. SO, SO frustrating…
Oh my goodness girl, I’m so sorry! If you read my last post, I had almost the EXACT same experience last weekend trying to get home. It’s so frustrating and I can’t believe they wouldn’t let you get on the plane when the door was still open! Hope things start to look up for you today :)
Yeah that sounds like a nightmare!
When I went to Europe my Senior year, we had a total of 4 flights, one after the other, and we were awake for almost a day and a half straight! Towards the end of the shorter flights, we were so exhausted it was laughable! I never want to do that again! But I did enjoy flying!

Oh no! I can’t believe they didn’t let you on the plane; eight minutes is plenty of time, and in my experience, planes have never departed early… Hopefully you’re safely in Maine now! I once missed a 6am flight and spent the entire day at the airport (I was put on the 11am flight, but it got delayed until 4ish, and then my connecting flight got delayed until 10:30pm, so I arrived at my destination at midnight). Not one of my best days :P
Ugh, I feel like all flights are like that now! Air traveling has become such a hassle. Hope the meeting with your boyfriend’s parents went well!
